a pervasive drama by Rik Lander
at the Broadway Media Centre, Nottingham
As part of his artistic residency at the Pervasive Media Group at Nottingham University Rik Lander has created a pervasive drama set in the streets around the Broadway cinema.
You are meeting her in an hour
Your head full of memories

Somewhere between cinema, game and theatre, The Memory Dealer, is a pervasive drama that takes place in the streets of central Nottingham. The story begins with the audience listening to an mp3 file as they meander through the busy city. To continue they have to find one of the shady memory dealers offering files revealing hidden memories layered on the fabric of the town. Each person pieces together their own journey through the narrative and helps shape its outcome.
The Memory Dealer is by Rik Lander, a pioneer of cross-platform media. He created magic-tree, an early web drama and directed Wannabes, the BBC's first interactive soap. He runs vonviral, a website dedicated to the best cross-platform media.
To take part in the test performance of this new work participants must register and give an email address.
They will be sent an mp3 file on Friday 10th September 2010
They must get this file onto a portable device that can play it on headphones - a mobile phone or mp3 player.
They must then gather at the Broadway Cinema at 2pm on Saturday 11th September 2010
Maximum 20 participants.
